First Step Clinics offer Private Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Assessments in London. Alongside we support parents and families, and as we work past age of 18, we offer support to young adults (usually up to the age of 25) as they transition to University or vocation.

As an Independent Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provider our consultant psychiatrists offer Diagnostic Assessments and Treatment of children, teenagers and young adults. We cover conditions such as ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Psychosis, Eating Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress amongst others. Where needed in our diagnostic process, we use scientifically validated standardised questionnaires and computerised tools such as the QB test for ADHD. We have pioneered the use of online outcome measures to help with diagnostic work as well as tracking clinical progress.

We believe in empowering young people, parents and families in their journey to success and feel privileged to have supported many in taking their first step towards greater emotional wellbeing.

We use Evidence-Based Treatments mandated by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guidelines, this includes a combination of psychological therapies and medication where appropriate. The former is often an integrated approach offering a pragmatic mix of approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy.

The First Step Clinics project is led by its founders, Dr. Manjiri Lele and Dr. Adhiraj Joglekar, both Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists with over 25 years experience in Mental Health. The aim is to offer timely, effective Private Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Assessments in London to children, adolescents, families and young adults.

We aim to work with a number of health insurance providers and accept self-referrals from self-paying patients.

Our team and colleagues working across different clinics or clinical pathways are vetted and experienced consultants / clinicians with a minimum of five years working in senior positions in the NHS.
